Sonic the Hedgehog has always struggled in 3D. From the picky camera of Sonic Adventure to Sonic Unleashed and its odd melee combat, Sega’s mascot has never quite gotten it right. Thankfully, fans are here to make it all better with Green Hill Paradise Act 2. Built using the 3D Sonic Games Development Kit (SonicGDK), Green Hill Paradise Act 2 brings Sonic to the PC in an incredibly lush environment full of loops, springs, and bad robots. It’s a passion project made possible by a fan named Xaklse, who created the development kit.

The project itself was a collaboration between Daniel “SuperSonic68' Coyle and numerous other contributors. It’s everything you could want from a 3D Sonic game.

I’m so glad you’ve been having fun with our little experiment! On his behalf, thank you for acknowledging Xaklse: the creator of the SonicGDK.

Most people simply refer to me as the sole creator of the Green Hill Paradise project and all that goes behind it, when that simply is not true. This is the product of years of research and development from lots of folks: some of which are close friends of mine, others whom I’ve never had the pleasure of speaking with.

While Xaklse himself did not collaborate with us directly for the development of GHP, without him, none of these Sonic GDK projects would be possible. This includes Green Hill Paradise - Acts 1 and 2, Sonic Souls and the upcoming Sonic Incursion.
